Beaver Lake, Northwest Arkansas

A 31,700 acre man-made reservoir located in northwest Arkansas in the Ozark Mountains, Beaver Lake is the result of a dam constructed across the White River. With 487 miles of natural shoreline, the lake has natural caves, towering limestone bluffs, and natural crevices.

Boats of all shapes and sizes, including ski boats, fishing boats, pontoons, houseboats, and sail boats, share the wide open water of Beaver Lake. There are 7 marinas located on Beaver Lake, which are located within individual Corps campgrounds. Prairie Creek Marina, Horseshoe Bend Marina, Rocky Branch Marina and Hickory Creek Marina offer boat rentals (fishing boats, pontoons, wave runners), fuel and lake maps.

Other facilities include picnic sites, swimming beaches, hiking trails, boat launching ramps, and group picnic shelters. Around the lake, there are over 2,000 acres of campground and over 650 individual campsites. Beaver Lake is optimal for scuba diving because the water is deep and visibility is great making for interesting sites. Thanks to a rock bottom, the water is also crystal clear for snorkeling. Underwater bluffs and old foundations are a few of the hidden treasures of the lake.
